Mushroom Pizza Recipe

Bake+Prep Time: 1h 45m | Serves: 4

Pizza Dough ingredients:

2 cups flour

1/8 cup sugar

1/2 cups warm water (100-110 degrees)

2 teaspoons Salt

2 tablespoons yeast

1/4 cup olive oil


Pizza Sauce ingredients:

1 can tomato paste

8-12 oz water

Italian seasoning blend (basil, oregano, sage, thyme, rosemary, etc.)

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Salt

Pizza toppings:

1 bag of pizza blend cheese

Parmesan, Asiago, other cheeses (optional)

1 bunch fresh harvested oyster mushrooms

Other toppings: olives/artichoke/peppers/fresh basil, other mushrooms, etc. (optional)

Seasonings (optional)


Instructions: Dough

Start 1 hour prior to cook time

  1. Add flour and salt into large bowl

  2. Use measuring cup to make a pit in the flour

  3. Pour sugar, then yeast, then water into flour pit

  4. Let yeast activate (approximately 5 min) until bubbly

  5. Pour olive oil around the side of bowl onto flour

  6. Once the yeast is activated, combine all ingredients and knead until smooth

  7. If dough is sticky, sprinkle with flour and knead lightly; texture should be stretchy but firm

  8. Place dough back into bowl and lightly flour; cover bowl and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour)

  9. Once the dough has risen, preheat oven to 400 degrees, lightly flour rolling surface and roll into desired shape

  10. Place onto baking surface and poke with fork to prevent air pockets, then par-bake for 10-15 min; remove from oven, then top with sauce

Instructions: Sauce

Complete while par-baking

  1. In sauce pan, low-mid heat, mix tomato paste and desired amount of water until fully combined

  2. Season and salt to desire

  3. Optional: cook mushrooms into sauce on mid-high heat


Instructions: Toppings

Complete once par-baking is done, increase oven temp to 450 degrees

  1. Optional: saute and season mushrooms and other toppings

  2. Lightly sauce pizza crust or to desired amount

  3. Evenly spread cheese over entire pizza

  4. Top as desired

  5. Bake at 450 degrees until cheese is completely melted and texture is at desired consistency, at least 15 min
